Is this real life? Is this actually happening? I've been bouncing this idea around for so many years that it is hard to believe that it is actually coming to fruition and I couldn't be more excited! Although I have a lot to accomplish before I can officially set off to see the world with you guys I am making progress every single day. There is a long road ahead before I am down to a back pack and plane ticket, but luckily I'll have several little adventures before I actually take flight to South America. It wasn't until I had to fit my life into a backpack that I realized how much unnecessary material wealth I had accumulated. I mean, on a small scale, I have enough socks for 10 families, I've got one waist and 12 belts, two feet and 18 pairs of shoes.. and the list goes on. The best feeling has been the process of letting go of the materials I once thought we so important and getting down to the basics.
I'm leaving tomorrow for Seattle and I have an action packed 10 days planned up there. This trip will be a mini camp in living-out-of-a-backpack for me. I'm hoping to make it to the San Juan Islands, hiking, exploring the city, and weather permitting I have an exciting backpacking trip planned for the weekend of the 24th. If anyone has suggestions of where I should go, things to see, eat, or paths less known PLEASE let me know! Much to do before my flight tomorrow but I am looking forward to the first adventure, I'll be posting as often as possible. Thank you for reading and I'm looking forward to some great suggestions!
